Q: Why use Ionic?
A: The main idea was to extended to mobile, but I dropped the idea as mobile is not a very friendly platform for protecting privacy.
But Ionic as an UI framework provice a nice UX and is intuitive to use.
Q: Is released on the Chrome web store?

Q: What are some features?
A: It has many features check the introduction page for more details. Introduction page.
Q: Is this ready to use?
A: I am using it as my main wallet for over 2 years, so I would say yes, but it is up to you to decide if it is ready for you.
Q: Will this project be heavily maintained?
A: I do not add many features as I think it is feature complete, but I will maintain it as long as I use it, and I don't see any reason to stop using it.
